Vassago slowly fades into existence. Vassago exclaims, 'Nein!@' 'Uh' you say. Vassago begins casting a spell... Vassago has completed his casting. Your form begins to undulate and waver... With the incredibly painful feeling of your bones breaking and tendons snapping, you eventually transform into a ferocious rhinocerous!

There needs to be an "I use X but wish I used Y" poll, so I can vote 'I use portal but wish I used anything but portal.'

I play mm exclusively through the use of socket level api calls.

Re: What's Your Mud Client of Choice?
*agrees with reep*
Portal is amazing. and reep and i are working on scripting as many features as possible, that are not only shared by zmud users but eventually some that zmud might not even have!
long live portal!
(on a side note, theres a client i remember seeing that was specifically tailored to sailing, but i cannot for the life of me remember the name of it, anyone know? it might be pyramud but im not sure.)

Re: What's Your Mud Client of Choice?
Although I am a zMUD user and have been for the length of my MUD experiences in total, I do believe that TF is a great tool to use as a client and as a coder's base. Its versatility is one of its greatest eye-catchers. You can use TF on any OS (MAC and Unix included). It's not for the novice of coders though, but it will teach you the same nonetheless.
If you want a client with flexibility and coding in mind, choose TF.
Plus, it's SO much better than Telnet. There really isn't any reason for anybody to use such an outdated applet for text-based games in general.
